About Blitz Referrals
- Turnaround Time
Average referral turnaround time is 24 hours excluding weekends and holidays. For urgent referral requests or questions contact 1-877-44-Blitz. - Referral Triggers
High-risk locations, adverse loss history, special coverage, gaps in coverage, crime score, or premium size may trigger underwriting referrals for manual review. - Underwriter Evaluation
Underwriters analyze exposures, review documentation, and assess if the risk fits the Blitz's appetite and guidelines. The underwriter may ask for additional info during their review to make a final determination. - Decision Outcomes
Decisions can approve, modify, or decline risks, guiding policy issuance and ensuring profitability and fairness.

Payment options
Payment Collection Methods
Payments can be made via agency bill or direct bill (paid in full or financing through Honor Capital).
Installments and Billing Cycles
Installment options are available at time of binding and would remain throughout the policy term. Any changes to billing plans would have to be done via a cancel/rewrite. Auto pay can be turned on and off during the policy terms.
Payment Tracking and Management
Agency Bill payments are managed through our Blitz Platform. Direct Bill payments are managed through our billing Vendor, Ascend.
Coverage Continuity
Payments must be received, clear and post for continuous coverage (including any reinstatements).

Surplus Lines Taxes & Fees
Blitz insurance is a non-admitted (also called E&S) carrier; therefore, only surplus lines brokers, not retail agents, can place business with Blitz. It also means there are some state-specific compliance requirements to be aware of including taxes, filings, disclosures, and diligent search. Blitz Insurance performs inspections on properties we insure to confirm key details about the property and identify any areas that may need attention. This ensures coverage remains appropriate, that the property meets our guidelines, and may help prevent future issues when identified and addressed in advance.

How to File a Claim
All of our claims are handled by our 3rd party TPA claims administrator, Blair and Co. They handle the intake process, investigation, determination of loss/coverage and payment or declination.
To file a new claim or check the status of an existing claim you can contact them here:

When filing a claim be sure to include the following information:
- First Named Insured (as it appears on the declarations page)
- Policy number
- Date and Time of Loss
- Description of the Loss
- Include any photos or police reports (if applicable)
- Insured Contact Name, Phone and Email
- Agent Name, Phone and Email

In the event of a claim, you should always
STEP 1
Ensure Safety First
Contact the fire department or police department (depending on the loss)
STEP 2
Secure the location
Take reasonable steps to prevent further damage such as:
- Boarding up windows or doors
- Secure/cover exposed roofs, equipment or any outdoor property
- Keep receipts for any emergency or temporary repairs
STEP 3
Notify Blair and Co and your Agent as soon as possible.

If you do not have all details (photos, receipts, police report, etc) do not delay in reporting the claim. Additional info can be provided at a later date.
STEP 4
Document the Damage/Loss as much as you can.
Clear photos/videos (close ups and wide shots) of any damaged property.
Preserve any damaged items unless they pose a safety risk or are perishable.
Request an Endorsement
Blitz allows most endorsements to be completed from post issuance all the way up through expiration. Mid-term changes can be done directly through the Blitz platform, or by contacting the Broker Success Team at 877-442-5489 or servicing@blitzinsurance.com
